Glencore Port Operations

The metals and minerals we produce and process in Mount Isa, Cloncurry and Townsville are exported from the Port of Townsville to customers in Asia, Europe and North America, as well as in other parts of Australia.

Our port operations also handle products from third party producers, including copper and zinc concentrates and fertiliser from Incitec Pivot's Phosphate Hill operation.

Mineral concentrates and fertiliser products are loaded onto ships for export through Berth 8 shiploader.

Lead bullion from our smelter at Mount Isa Mines and copper cathode from Glencore's Copper Refinery Pty Ltd are loaded at Berth 3.

Glencore’s operations make a major socio-economic contribution in Townsville, where our port operations and copper refinery are based.

We aim to build enduring relationships within the local community that result in positive and lasting social and economic benefits.

We acknowledge the Wulgurukaba and Bindal people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate, respecting their culture, history and relationship to the land.

Community investment

We have two community funding programs:

• Community Assistance Program (CAP): Community-based events and initiatives

• Futures Fund: Large, locally based infrastructure projects, identified in consultation with community, stakeholders and government.
