Location

The mine is located 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the Bowen Basin, Central Queensland.

Product coal is railed 100 kilometres to Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal for export.

Ownership

Glencore became the operator of Hail Creek in August 2018 after acquiring a majority interest in the mine and adjacent coal resources.

We are the major shareholder, with 84.67%, and manage the operations on behalf of a joint venture with Marubeni (12%) and Sumitomo (3.33%).
