Location
Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 100 kilometres from Bowen in the northern part of Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
Collinsville was recognised as a potential coalfield as early as 1866. Underground mining began in 1919.
Ownership
Collinsville Open Cut is part of the NC Coal Company Pty Ltd that is 100% owned by Glencore.
Glencore continues to engage openly and regularly with the communities of Collinsville and the northern Bowen Basin region.

Our community partnerships at Collinsville Open Cut include:
- Collinsville Physical Education and Sports Project – funding a physical education and sports teacher to supplement sport and physical activities at the three primary schools in Collinsville/Scottville, before and after school activities and weekend sport, and representative teams
- Collinsville Childcare – working with other community organisations to deliver Collinsville a long lasting viable community childcare facility.
